Chimney repairs and painting

This chimney is in Galashiels, close to our Scottish Borders base. It was in reasonably good condition and only required the following maintenance works:

  • Some pointing
  • Fitting of a new chimney band
  • Upgrade to lightning conductor
  • Painting of the smokeband (black section at the head)
  • Painting of the chimney with waterproofing boiled linseed oil / red oxide mixture
